If you bring items to NZ that cost NZ$1000 or less, you don’t have to pay Customs Duty since GST is collected at the time of purchase. Nothing else needs to be done to get your items into NZ.
Purchasing items from overseas over NZ$1000 may require you to pay GST and Customs Duty and this is calculated separately. For an estimate of what you may pay, try the custom’s duty estimator. If you are bringing items into NZ from an approved retailer, customs duty and GST may already be included, so you may not need to do anything. Your parcel may arrive without issue.
